Established in 1999, ITRAMAS is Malaysia’s leading Greentech and Renewable Energy company. As the country’s foremost vertically integrated solar developer, EPCC provider, and long-term asset operator, we manage over 200 MWp of installed solar capacity, with a further 1.5 GWp currently under development.

With 25 years of proven expertise, ITRAMAS is recognised as a pioneer in Malaysia’s renewable energy landscape. We deliver comprehensive solutions across Utility-Scale Solar Systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Solar Systems. Our capabilities extend across the renewable energy and electric vehicle value chains through advanced electronics manufacturing and strategic industrial park development.

Our MYR 1 billion World’s Largest Green SRI Sukuk in 2017, which financed Malaysia’s first three 66 MWp solar plants under Malaysia’s Large Scale Solar programme, received the highest level of “Dark Green” rating from CICERO Centre for International Climate Research, Norway. Today, ITRAMAS plays a central role in driving Malaysia’s energy transition and supporting the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) policy.

ITRAMAS in collaboration with UEM Group to spearhead pivotal flagship 1 GWac Hybrid Solar PV Power Plant Integrated with an RE Industrial Park (JULY, 2023)

2021

Launched the SOLARSAVE programme in Malaysia to accelerate access to clean energy for homeowners and businesses.

This initiative promotes greater solar adoption across urban and rural communities by offering smart solar systems that reduce electricity bills, support energy independence, and align with Malaysia’s net zero carbon goals.

2019

Completed the development of Terengganu’s first utility-scale 66 MWp solar plant, located on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.

This milestone expanded ITRAMAS’s solar footprint in the region and further accelerated Malaysia’s journey towards grid-connected sustainable energy solutions.

2018

Commissioned the first 66 MWp utility-scale solar power plants in Kedah and Melaka, Malaysia, marking a major step in ITRAMAS’s contribution to the nation’s renewable energy transition.

These projects reinforced our capabilities in large-scale solar deployment and demonstrated our commitment to clean energy infrastructure across different regions of the country.

2017

ITRAMAS issued MYR 1 billion worth of Green Islamic Bonds (SRI Sukuk) to raise financing for our 3 x 66 MWp LSS projects under Quantum Solar Park (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.

The MYR 1 billion Green SRI Sukuk was the first in Malaysia and the largest Green Sustainable & Responsible Investment (SRI) Sukuk ever issued worldwide at the time of its issuance in 2017, pioneering green islamic financing for renewable energy projects in Malaysia and other Islamic countries.

2012

Developed and implemented the Traffic Control and Surveillance System for the Second Penang Bridge in Malaysia.

This large-scale deployment supported national road connectivity by enhancing highway safety, traffic flow management, and critical data integration into Malaysia’s smart transportation ecosystem.

2010

Commissioned two high-security Control and Surveillance Centres in Jakarta, Indonesia for the National Police and in Vatican City, Italy.

These landmark projects demonstrated our leadership in secure command centre technology and solidified ITRAMAS’s role as a trusted partner for institutional and cross-border infrastructure deployments.

2008

Installed LED lighting systems at the historic Forbidden City in Beijing, China, showcasing our capabilities in architectural and heritage illumination.

Following this success, ITRAMAS expanded its international reach with smart lighting and infrastructure projects in Bahrain, Panama, Saudi Arabia, Australia, and Singapore. These projects reflected growing global confidence in Malaysian engineering and demonstrated our ability to deliver sustainable, intelligent technologies that meet the demands of diverse international markets while upholding world-class standards.

2007

Delivered Malaysia’s first Control and Command Centre for Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia in Kajang, introducing advanced traffic monitoring capabilities to national highways.

This milestone marked ITRAMAS’s expansion into intelligent transport infrastructure, enabling centralised traffic surveillance and laying the foundation for future smart mobility solutions across the region.

2006

Opened a second production facility to meet increasing demand and launched two international joint ventures. Partnered with The ICT Solution in Thailand and with Traffic Technologies Ltd to enter the Australia and New Zealand markets.

These strategic expansions accelerated our presence across the Asia-Pacific region and positioned ITRAMAS as a Malaysian engineering brand with global aspirations.

2005

Broadened our urban traffic portfolio with new junction control projects involving the Malaysian Highway Authority (Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia, LLM), ColorRay, Road Builder, and IJM Corporation. Initiated a joint venture with Chicago Miniature Lamp Inc to manufacture for the United States and Europe.

This year marked our early steps into export markets while advancing intelligent traffic control at scale across Malaysia.

2004

Relocated our operations to Perai, Penang to accommodate expanding production. Delivered traffic systems for the Butterworth Outer Ring Road (Lebuh Raya Lingkaran Butterworth, LLB) and additional JKR Johor infrastructure projects.

This move enhanced our production capacity and logistics capability to better serve national and regional traffic infrastructure needs.

2003

Secured projects with the Public Works Department (Jabatan Kerja Raya, JKR) in Johor and the New Pantai Expressway (NPE), reinforcing our reputation in intelligent traffic solutions.

These contracts expanded our reach into Southern Peninsular Malaysia and further positioned ITRAMAS as a trusted infrastructure partner to key government agencies.

2002

Contributed to Malaysia’s intelligent highway systems with the delivery of Variable Message Signs (VMS) for major expressways including Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS), North-South Expressway (PLUS), and the Integrated Transport Information System (ITIS).

This marked ITRAMAS’s growing role in national traffic communications and laid the foundation for further involvement in transport digitalisation initiatives.

2001

ITRAMAS began operations as a contract manufacturer for Lumileds in Malaysia, marking our entry into high-quality electronics and energy-efficient technologies.

This foundational step laid the groundwork for our journey in green technology and precision manufacturing, shaping our expertise in delivering reliable energy and infrastructure solutions that meet international standards.

2000

ITRAMAS began its journey from humble beginnings at Chai Leng Park in Penang, where its early engineering work laid the foundation for future national infrastructure projects.

From the beginning, we set out to support national progress by combining innovation, technical excellence, and a commitment to sustainable development.

1999

ITRAMAS was officially incorporated in Malaysia, laying the foundation for our journey in energy-efficient technologies and precision engineering.

That same year, we were awarded the Variable Message Sign (VMS) system for Putrajaya, marking our first major project with the Malaysian government. A dedicated testing site was also set up in Bangi to ensure optimal VMS performance, showcasing our technical commitment and readiness to deliver mission-critical systems.
