KUALA LUMPUR, 9 October 2024 - ITRAMAS Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (ITRAMAS), Malaysia's leading vertically-integrated renewable energy developer, has announced strategic partnerships with top international solar manufacturers to enhance Malaysia's solar supply chain. Memorandums of Agreement (MoAs) were signed between ITRAMAS and China Machinery Engineering Wuxi Co. Ltd. (CMEC WUXI) to develop a solar module manufacturing facility in Malaysia, as well as with Wuxi Longmax Technology Co., Ltd. (Longmax) to produce solar combiner boxes locally for Malaysian and international markets.
The agreement exchange ceremony was witnessed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, YAB Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, and YB Tuan Nik Nazmi bin Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, at the International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM) 2024 event today.
Under the MoA with CMEC WUXI, ITRAMAS will establish a 500MWp solar module manufacturing facility, which is set to begin operations in 2025. This facility will produce solar modules compatible with various sizes and specifications, including advanced bifacial and heterojunction (HJT) modules, supporting both local and international markets.
ITRAMAS' partnership with Longmax, a global leader in solar photovoltaic (PV) combiner box and eBOS solutions with over 150GW supplied to more than 1,000 customers in 60 countries worldwide, will see the production of solar combiner boxes in Malaysia for the local and international market. Longmax's extensive 22-year track record in the solar PV industry will further support Malaysia's push for greater involvement i the global solar energy market.
Lee Choo Boo, Group MD of ITRAMAS Corporation, said: "As part of ITRAMAS' commitment to support Malaysia's National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and the Corporate Renewable Energy Supply Scheme (CRESS), these partnerships are crucial steps towards strengthening the local solar supply chain for global export.
